About Get Kids Reading

Hi, my name is Denny and I'm a mum of two boys. I started 'Get Kids Reading' to help you, well, get kids reading! I have over 12 years of experience working as a primary school class teacher and learning support assistant. Because I have read so many children's books, read to so many children of all ages, AND heard so many children of all different abilities and interests read, I have accumulated knowledge on creating someone who finds joy in reading. This blog is not about improving your child's reading levels at school (although it will do that). Instead, it's about finding out what works for the child - whether they are an avid reader or a reluctant reader. In my blog, you will find the following:
